At Circle Day (Aug. 2023), Squarespace announced the release of a new collection page type: Courses!

This is so new that I haven’t had time to create & work in my own overview of it yet or what this means for new & existing course creators, but I definitely plan on it!

In the meantime, let me introduce you to Rache, of SquareStylist! She’s just published a detailed high-level in the form of a ‘complete guide’ of Squarespace’s new page collection type that will answer most of your questions for now!

*If you’re also a current Standout® Squarespace student or currently have access to the private community, there’s a great 90-minute workshop here!

👉🏼 In this video, she covers:

    • 00:45 Key features of Squarespace Courses

    • 4:46 How to create the Course Content

    • 10:43 How to customize the Course Overview page

    • 12:15 Setting up the pricing plans

    • 17:05 How to make sign-up buttons available on the sales page and start selling courses

    • 19:18 A Preview of the student experience in Squarespace courses including order notifications

    • 20:08 How students access multiple courses

    • 20:38 How to determine the correct product type: Digital Downloads or Courses or Member Sites?

    • 24:36 Choosing the right website plan and digital product add-on

    • 29:44 Current limitations of Squarespace Courses

    • 33:00 Key Advantages of Squarespace Courses

To see screenshots of her price comparison (between Squarespace website hosting plans & what it might look like with the Digital Products Add-on subscription), or how that compares with platforms like Teachable, Kajabi, and Thinkific, check out her blog post here, or watch her embedded video.

    Who is Rache?

You may have heard of her popular program, Standout® Squarespace, for web designers wanting to learn code for customizing Squarespace sites.

Rache is also a reputable & widely respected website designer, Circle Member community leader, was a live speaker at Squarespace’s Circle Day 2023, and of course, she’s also a successful course creator (Standout® Shopify and Standout® Squarespace).

Her teaching style is detailed and incredibly comprehensive, and she specializes in teaching code for both Squarespace and Shopify so we can maximize what’s possible without introducing our clients to the actual code for edits (a very unique method!)

If you’re interested in learning more from Rache, I’m stoked to share that she’s just made a lot of changes that will make her Squarespace courses more accessible for new designers!

As a past & current student of Standout® Squarespace myself, investing in this course has been worth every penny!

I started my web design journey with Paige Brunton’s courses (Square Secrets® & Square Secrets Business®) back in 2018/2019, and by 2020/2021, Rache’s course was exactly what I wanted for the next level-up in my web designer journey, ––specifically to learn how to customize Squarespace websites with code in a user-friendly & client-friendly way.

    Split into 2 parts

She has just split her flagship course, Standout® Squarespace into two parts, making the first half much more affordable so you can make back that money & then take the remaining half when you’re ready!

    Standout® Squarespace Foundations

    Part 1 of 2

This first half of the Standout® curriculum covers all things business for web designers, web design tips, every detail of how to use the Squarespace platform, how to design responsively on Squarespace Fluid Engine (& how it compares to other platforms), and all the client-related processes for web design projects.

    Standout® Squarespace

    Part 2 of 2

This option includes the second half of the course, which covers how to code for clients on Squarespace so they don’t have to see/edit/look at the code to make changes to their website, and also how to essentially write our own plugins & stop relying on external shops to develop truly customized designs for our clients.

Thankfully, if you start with Foundations, the second half of the course is available at an upgrade price (just pay the difference) so you only have to purchase the level you need most!

    Both are available year-round!

Rache has just switched to an evergreen model which no longer has launches or enrollment rounds, so Standout’s curriculum is available whenever you are ready for it!

Rache’s course comes with a very active private community, where you’ll have access to her & her team for troubleshooting while you work through her program, in addition to weekly & monthly live workshops + replays. (Access levels in the community may differ based on your purchase.)

The course itself is extremely detailed, so plan to give yourself plenty of time to get through the material! If you want to know more about her teaching style, check out her YouTube channel or watch this related video of her project tracker, which is available as a template inside Standout.
