15 ways to up-level your website with any of these widgets

Squarespace is a really great all-in-one platform that checks A LOT of boxes for your website.

The ones it doesn’t check though, there are usually work-arounds for, using widgets for example!

Before Squarespace bought Acuity, there was no built-in Scheduler associated with Squarespace, but those using Acuity or Calendly or Dubsado’s scheduler could embed one on the page by pasting in some code in an embed block. 🔨 Fixed!

But what about some other stuff? Like including your YouTube channel’s video gallery on your website, … that updates automatically? 🤩

Or maybe you want to embed your Facebook/Google/Yelp/Air B&B reviews on your website & have those update automatically?

It can be done, folks! And pretty easily too, I might add… using Elftsight’s widgets!*

15 widgets that will up-level your website

You can browse quickly through their catalog at the bottom, or keep reading to find out which of the widgets I think could be most useful for you.

    PRICING:
Elfsight has pricing flexibility, where you can pay per widget or pay to access them all at a discounted price. They offer 4 Single-App plans* ranging from $0 to $25/mo and 3 All-Apps packs* ranging from $15/mo to $75/mo, paid annually.

Both packs offer tiered pricing, based on how many views your widget is going to get when installed on your site (so your pricing will depend on the size of your active audience). For more on their pricing, read this.

    01 - YouTube Gallery*

Are you an active YouTuber? Do you record a lot of videos for your blog, channel, business, or website? This widget will sync automatically every 24 hours and display your channel’s videos on your website in a gallery format, with your own branding & styling options.

    02 - Podcast Player*

Do you have a podcast? This player would be a great addition to your blog home page. With 6 different styles to choose from, you can make listening to your podcast a no-brainer by embedding your episodes right onto your website.

    03 - Pricing Tables*

Struggle to layout pricing in a way that’s easy to understand AND attractive? These 4 layouts are KILLER, and make it super easy to lay out the best features and pricing for your business.

    04 - Countdown Timer*

You’ve heard these can trigger FOMO and put light pressure on your audience to make a decision quicker than they otherwise might, right? It’s true, and I’ve succumbed to that tactic many-a-time myself. 😄 This widget offers a whopping 12 different layouts for using the timer like this & you can embed it anywhere on your site.

    05 - Reviews & Testimonial Sliders*

Tired of using the Squarespace Summary Block hack for this? This is a great option with 7 different layouts to choose from and it’s easy to manage.

Not only that, but there are many options that will automatically pull in reviews from Google, Facebook, Amazon, Yelp, Etsy, Ebay, AirBnB –and a lot more! See #7 for more examples.

    06 - FAQs*

With Squarespace’s newer Accordion block, this is far less ‘necessary’ than it used to be, but it’s still available if you want an accordion with a different look that’s easily styleable.

Of course, there are some great coded plugins out there that also work with Squarespace quite well, but if you don’t want to mess with a little code editing & want a more normal approach to setting this up in an attractive & interactive way, then this is a great widget to use.

    07 - #alltheReviews*

Don’t search for that in their catalog; you won’t find it that way. 😂 They do have widgets for reviews on Google, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Better Business Bureau (BBB), Yelp, Etsy, Amazon, AirB&B, OpenTable, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, TrustPilot, Instagram and more; –even an All-in-One widget, where you can add multiple review sources to the same widget. 🙌🏻

    08 - Social Media feeds*

Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and more; these widgets will pop your social feeds right onto your website, keeping visitors on your website even to see what you posted most recently on their favorite platforms.

    09 - Before & After slider*

This one is MEGA cool for people who offer more tangible services, like photo edits, website re-dos, interior design projects, and more. This is an interactive slider that shows the differences between the before and after in a really fun way!

    10 - Event Calendar*

Keep your audience apprised of all your latest events in an easy-to-use widget, whether you have a built-in Event Calendar (like Squarespace) or not (like Showit).

    11 - All-in-One Chat*

Have trouble installing FB Messenger on your site? This widget will help with that, keeping you accessible to your audience, IF you want to be.

    12 - Restaurant Menu*

Want an easy way to put your menu on your website? It can be interactive with tabbed categories or just nicely laid out, hassle-free.

Even though Squarespace has some basic ways to do this, one of them uses a Markdown block which is harder to edit in, than a text block. If you want an easier way to manage it AND make it stylish and responsive, this is your widget!

    13 - Age Verification*

If you’re worried about minors consuming your website’s content, you might want to have an age verification pop-up. SquareStud.io has a really simple plug-in for this, but if you want a little more control over how it looks this widget is a great option too. With 11 different layout options & easy-to-use styling options, this will be easy to set up & it’ll look great too.

    14 - PDF embed*

If you have a paper form you want to embed on your website for easy downloading & whatever, this is a great option. With 8 different layouts, you’ll be able to do a little more than just uploading images or connecting linked text to a file.

    15 - Facebook comments*

Have something on your website where you want to allow comments, that doesn’t usually have that capability? This is a great solution & using Facebook for commenting is always a plus, since most people are on that platform & will be able to comment easily. (A lot of people are less likely to comment if they think they have to create an account first, in order to leave one.)
